These are an easy fun project for the whole family to enjoy and take very little time.
We also have some suggestions give them a holiday look with glitter or powdered sugar for a snowy effect.
The cookies and ingredients are all store-bought and made in minutes, the kids enjoy making these and are certain to vanish off the cookie tray.

Acorn Cookies Shopping List
- vanilla wafer mini
- chocolate canned frosting or homemade
- mini chocolate chips
- milk chocolate kisses candy unwrapped
- Optional: sanding sugar colors for Halloween like clear sparkling white, purple, or orange,(this will make a glittery effect)
- powdered sugar sprinkled as an option for a snowy look on top of the acorns
Tools to Have on Hand for Making Acorn Cookies
- cookie sheet or cutting board used as a workstation
- wax paper or parchment for drying the cookies to line the cookie sheet
- butter knife or offset spatula for spreading on the candy
- bowl for frosting
- storage container for cookies
- Note:: if you prefer to use a pastry bag with icing to adhere to the candy and wafers that is an alternative
Acorn Cookies Creative Ideas
- add a thicker amount of frosting to the bottom of the kiss and after assembling roll in clear or colorful sanding sugars
- sprinkle the acorn cookies with powdered sugar before serving
- use a butterscotch or peanut butter full-sized chips instead of a mini semi-sweet chip for the top of the cookies
- substitute different flavored kisses for an assortment tray IE: peanut butter
- add a green stem using piping icing and a piping bag for the top of the acorn or sliced spearmint leaves
- substitute mini cookie bites for vanilla wafers for a different flavored cookie (chocolate, peanut butter, or another kind of mini cookie)

Easy Chocolate Acorn Candy Cookies
Adorable kisses candy and wafer cookies come together to make little no-bake candy acorn cookies.
Prep time: 15 MinTotal time: 15 Min
Ingredients
- 1 or 2 tablespoons canned chocolate frosting (or homemade below)
- 24 milk chocolate candy kisses (we used milk chocolate), unwrapped
- 24 mini vanilla wafer cookies (any brand)
- 24 mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Place a cutting board on the table and lay out the vanilla wafers on the board.
- First using an offset spatula or butter knife, add a little dollop of chocolate frosting on the bottom of the kiss and press this to the flat side of the wafer.
- Note: you can also use a pastry bag filled with frosting with the smallest writing tip to adhere the frosting to the cookies.
- Add a little frosting to the flat side (of the mini chocolate chip) and place in the center of the top of the wafer cookie.
- Proceed with the same directions for all the remaining cookies.
- Let dry for around 30 minutes on a wax-papered surface.
- Homemade chocolate frosting:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- water a teaspoon at a time to make a thick spread consistency.
- Store leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator.
- You can also use this leftover frosting and make our Witches hats using this up with our other favorite no-bake cookie recipe.
