Easy Steps and Ingredients for Parmesan Crusted Chicken Legs
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet or casserole pan with parchment paper plus oil spray the paper
- Place the meat on the parchment paper and set it aside
- In a small mixing bowl add the mayonnaise with seasoning and mix together
- Smear a little on each piece on both sides sprinkled with breadcrumbs
- Bake for around 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees using an instant-read thermometer

- If you want a change to outdoor cooking, you can grill the chicken for a nice smoked flavor however we boiled the chicken first to ensure it's done and added the chicken to a cast iron pan on top of the grill grates to continue the process.
- Air fry the chicken legs at 400 degrees without the coating for around 12 minutes, turn them then just coat the chicken on one side and return to air fry for around 10 more minutes checking the internal temperature to be at 165 degrees for doneness.
- Try this recipe with pork, venison, or boneless steak
- For a little heat, add some cayenne pepper to the mayonnaise mixture or a few teaspoons of hot sauce
- Let the chicken rest before serving for around 3 minutes
- Use only thawed fresh not in a frozen state

Baked Chicken Legs with a Parmesan Crust takes plain chicken to gourmet flavors with a juicy inside and crispy delicious coating outside
Ingredients
- 6 large chicken legs (or another part you prefer)
- Note: boneless or bone-in cooking times will vary use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan and Pecorino Romano Blended cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning herbs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons granulated garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Optional: black pepper to taste, pinch of cayenne pepper for heat or use 2 teaspoons of hot sauce for a spicy mayonnaise topping
- Garnish: Panko Flavored or Plain Breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking casserole pan (13 x 9) with parchment paper sprayed with cooking oil.
- (Tip: for crisper chicken also spray the chicken with cooking spray oil on both sides before adding the mixture on it).
- In a small bowl, add the mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, and Worcestershire sauce. and seasonings and mix evenly. ( cayenne pepper and black pepper is optional to taste)
- Place around 1 tablespoon on top of each piece of chicken spreading over the entire top using an offset spatula or butter knife.
- Sprinkle the top with breadcrumbs evenly on each chicken leg then flip them over and do the same on the opposite side.
- Bake for around 25 minutes and test the meat with an instant-read thermometer.
- Chicken legs should be at 165 degrees internal temperature when completed cooking and inserted in the thickest part of the leg.
- Let rest 3 to 4 minutes after baking before serving.
