Polynesian Beef Rice Burgers
Delicious Polynesian Beef and Rice Burgers in a rich sweet and sour sauce with pineapples and bell peppers.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup for the burgers (plus add 1/2 cup instant rice to the sauce at the end)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon freshly chopped garlic or granulated garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Sauce:
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 2 cups chunk pineapple
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (more if you like a thicker sauce)
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 bell pepper of any color sliced and cored
- 2 tablespoons oil vegetable or canola
- salt and pepper to taste is optional
- 1 cup of water
Instructions
- Mix the beef with 1/4 cup of raw rice in a bowl with the egg, soy sauce, and granulated garlic powder.
- Shape into 6 beef and rice patties.
- Heat the oil in a deep frying pan and saute the burgers on both sides unit they are nice and browned.
- Add the pineapple and peppers and saute for 2 more minutes.
- In another bowl whisk together all the sauce ingredients until well combined.
- Pour that into the pan with the burgers.
- Simmer with the additional 1/2 cup of rice until the sauce thickens slightly and the rice is cooked around 12 minutes. Add more water or pineapple juice if it's too thick.
