Refrigerator Dough Food Bombs

Refrigerator dough, black forest ham, and a block of cubed sharp cheddar are the start of making these outrageously fun little food bombs.

The dough is found in the dairy section and comes in tubes all you have to do is unroll it, fill it, and bake your bombs and these couldn't be easier to make or more delicious.

The dough is versatile with many filling possibilities and is perfect for a quick lunch, snack, or party finger food!

The fillings can be endless with ideas, from all vegetables to meat combinations of your favorite and these can be served warm as they are or with your favorite Dipping Sauce.

Stuffed Little Bread Dough Bomb Ideas

  • use condiments on the dough before adding meats
  • make assorted filling IE 4 kinds of chopped cold cuts to be like an ultimate Italian submarine
  • prepare an assorted tray for party appetizers and sprinkle the tops differently to remember what's inside (pepper strips, sliced grape tomatoes, chopped olives, or fresh herbs

Tips

  • use small cubes of cheese
  • place the filling in the center and roll it around to cover the filling
  • a sprinkle of cheese on top and Italian herbs or sesame seeds make a tasty topping
  • the dough will stay soft if you brush it with butter after baking
  • always bake this on parchment paper or a Silpat mat for easy removal 
  • the balls should be close together before baking so they stick together as they expand the cooking
  • spray parchment paper with cooking oil to avoid sticking
  • use crescent roll, buttermilk biscuit dough or another refrigerated dough of any brand you prefer and for larger food bombs get the GRAND size biscuits

  1. Note: for all multiple stuffing ingredients use two packages of dough and make larger crescent dough balls
  2. Philly Steak Stuffed Dough Balls: finely chopped  cooked ribeye steak, sauteed onions chopped, provolone cheese
  3. Pepperoni Pizza Stuffed Dough: finely chopped pepperoni, tomato sauce, and shredded mozzarella or provolone

Ingredients

  • 1 package of 8 Refrigerator dough, crescent rolls, or buttermilk biscuits
  • Note: pizza dough can be used however the baking time will vary. The recipe can be doubled or tripled.
  • 1 slice of cooked meat per food bomb
  • 1 small cube of any flavors or kinds of cheese you prefer for each food bomb
  • (assorted cold cuts, cooked meats, and chopped vegetables refer to the Notes below for combinations
  • Garnish: Mixed Italian herbs, grated Parmesan cheese, cooking oil spray
  • Food Bomb Identifiers when making an assortment of filling (use these topping ideas):
  • Top dough before baking: sliced olives, and sliced grape tomatoes. chopped peppers, sliced garlic cloves, sesame seeds, egg wash or cooking oil spray each one before adding to the dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Prepare and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a silicon mat.
  2. Roll each piece of dough out and flatten.
  3. Add the desired filling in the center.
  4. Wrap the dough around to close.
  5. Roll into balls.
  6. Spray the top with cooking oil spray or egg wash.
  7. Add any toppings to the dough balls as suggested in the notes.
  8. Bake at 400 degrees until browned.
  9. Serve hot with dipping sauces, easy garlic aioli, marinara, etc.
