Golden Beet Recipes
Roasted, steamed, boiled, air-fried, golden beets are delicious and they never leave a mess.
Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 55 MinTotal time: 1 H & 5 M
Ingredients
- Roasted Golden Beets (see notes for other cooking methods and additional seasonings)
- 6 whole Golden Beets
- salt, and pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon (or more to taste) granulated garlic powder
- foil or parchment paper
- Optional: 1 tablespoon of honey or brown sugar just a little on each beet
- Note: see other suggestions for seasonings under notes
Instructions
- Scrub the beets with a vegetable brush to remove dirt and cut off the stems.
- Note: Beet greens are delicious in a salad with Italian dressing.
- Beets do not need to be peeled as the skin will fall off easily after roasting. I do peel them slightly to let the seasoning penetrate better.
- Place the cleaned beets on a sheet foil of parchment paper
- Season brush with olive oil and seasoning and honey if using.
- Fold up tightly to seal.
- Bake at 400 degrees for around 55 minutes.
- If a knife or fork goes in easily they are done, continue roasting if they are still hard. This also depends on the sizes.
- I usually add two beets to a packet of foil.
- Slice and these are delicious as they are roasted or can be used to add to salads, or a side dish for any meal.
