Easy Steps for Making Doctored Cake Mix Pound Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare and grease pans ( 2- 9 inches, bundt pan, 2 cupcake tins, or a 13 x 9-inch pan)
- Cream the sugar and butter
- Add the rest of the ingredients except for the extracts and beat until smooth
- Stir in the extracts. Add any mix-ins at this step if using.
- Bake: Pour into prepared pans and bake for around 20 minutes or until the toothpick comes clean
- Cool: Invert the cake after 10 minutes and cool them completely

This is a no-fail easy pound is made with a doctored yellow cake mix and perfect every time!

Ingredients
- 1 (15.25 ounce) package of any brand of yellow cake mix (you can also try, chocolate, spice, lemon, and any flavor mix you prefer)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon anisette extract or add lemon instead for a lemon cake
- 1 (8 ounces) container of sour cream
- 2/3 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and choose a pan you prefer. Bundt pan, tube pan, 2- loaf pans 2- cupcake tins, etc., and then grease and flour them then set aside.
- Using a large bowl with an electric mixer, cream the sugar and butter until light and fluffy around 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add the eggs, water, sour cream, flour, and cake mix and beat until smooth and no lumps are left around 3 minutes.
- Stir in the extracts.
- Bake at 350 degrees for around 55 minutes to 1 hour. Use the toothpick method if it comes out clean it's done.
