You can make them with simple pantry ingredients or just get totally creative by adding hair piped on with frosting.
Whether it's a school fun project, making them for a party, or just about any event, these are quick and a great addition to the party tables.
Shopping List for Making Marshmallow Ghosts
- large marshmallows
- white candy melts or chips
- mini skewers or lollipop sticks
- sugar colors for Halloween like purple, orange or black (this will make glitter)
- hershey's kisses in either dark or milk chocolate

Marshmallow Ghosts
Marshmallows decorated as ghosts made easy. Dipped in white chocolate and decorative eyes for a Halloween haunted spooky party!

Ingredients
- 6 to 8 Large marshmallows
- 1 cup white chocolate chips or white candy melts
- Eyeball options: mini m &'s, mini chocolate chips or (decorative eyes made from Royal Icing)
- Lollipop sticks or small skewers for appetizers or kabobs
- Optional garnish: granulated sugar or sanding sugar
- (optional Styrofoam, decorative containers, Christmas cotton or cotton balls)
Instructions
- Prepare the ahead of time a small sheet of wax paper on a cookie sheet and set it aside. Get the bowl you're using ready and filled with styrofoam covered with Christmas cotton set that aside.
- You will need to have ready, two eyes for each ghost set aside and the skewers for the amount of marshmallows your dipping.
- Place one large marshmallow on an appetizer skewer or use lollipop sticks. (I find them at discount stores or online)
- In the meantime melt the white chocolate melts in a microwave-proof bowl making sure you stir every 30 seconds. (this takes around 2 to 3 minutes)
- Dip each marshmallow into the melted chocolate and set them on the wax paper, then attach the eyes while still wet.
- Note: you can sprinkle sugar on them for a glistening look
- Let that dry for around 30 minutes or you can set these in the fridge for around 10 minutes for a quick set.
- Stick the bottom of your ghost sticks into the styrofoam bowls and enjoy your new Halloween Ghost Centerpiece!
