White Chocolate Coated Snack Mix

Here is a great festive snack mix to celebrate an American holiday with a Patriotic red, white and blue addictive fun food.


This easy confection is made up of cereals, pretzels, raisins, and just about anything you like can go into the mix all coated in melted white chocolate.


This simple snack mix can be adapted to any holiday theme just by changing the colorful coated candies and sprinkles with festive jimmies.


We made these with pastel colors for Easter with sprinkles, red and green for Christmas, then our Patriotic version, and even green for St. Patrick's Day.

Festive Fun Snack




Whether you add cereal, nuts, dried fruits, popcorn, candy, or other favorite snack foods, the substitutions are endless for just about any occasion.



We have made this for baby showers, weddings, breast cancer awareness fundraisers and every kind of holiday by just changing the colors of the candy.



Get creative, tint the chocolate to your theme and make this super special for that gift you may need for a "hard to buy for" person.



Patriotic candy and snack mix for the 4th of July in a mason jar



Ingredients You Will Need(see below recipe card for measurements)

  • cereal, pretzels, crackers, coated colorful candies
  • White, Milk, or use  chocolate  chips any flavor IE Butterscotch, Peanut Butter or Dark Chocolate
  • Shortening
  • Mix-In Suggestions: Holiday-themed colored sprinkles or nonpareils, chopped nuts, coconut, chopped dried fruits, chopped candy bars, mini chocolate chips, popcorn, mini marshmallows, dot candy or spice gumdrops 
  • Optional Food Coloring for white chocolate to make it pastels or another color you prefer besides white.

Other Tip Suggestions:


  • mix in melted white or milk chocolate
  • top while warm with colorful sprinkles or sugars
  • add mini marshmallows for garnish 
  • add popped corn
  • garnish with chocolate chips, peanut butter, or mint chips
  • add assorted nuts, sunflower, or pumpkin seeds
  • add coconut
  • use any colorful miniature crackers or any cereals you prefer
  • use any kinds of dried fruits
  • melt chocolate in 30-second increments be careful not to burn it
  • store in cool dry places in tightly covered containers
  • work quickly to spread out on a cookie sheet, the chocolate hardens quickly and if using sprinkles you need to be fast before it cools
  • use only good grade chocolate or it will ruin the taste of the whole snack mix

White Chocolate Coated Snack Mix

Here is white chocolate coated party mix everyone loves to snack on. It can be whatever you want it to be using cereals, raisins, colorful coated candies and so festive for any holiday you choose!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cereal squares, rounds, any kinds you prefer or a mixture of different ones
  • 1 cup miniature pretzel twists, squares
  • 2 cups cereal any kinds you like ( we prefer peanut butter crunch, squares of any kind, O's
  • 1 cup any nuts (or pumpkin, sunflower seeds for allergies)
  • 1 cups raisins or craisins
  • 1 cup red white and blue candy-coated chocolate candies
  • 2-3/4 cups white chocolate chips or melting white chocolate ( Note: any kind of chocolate  or chips can be used IE: peanut butter, butterscotch, chocolate, mint,  around a 12-ounce bag)
  • 1 tablespoon butter flavored shortening
  • Optional: mini crackers or any kind of goldfish work great, pretzel sticks are broken,  m&m, chocolate chips or white chips for garnish, while still warm sprinkle with red, white, and blue jimmies or pastels

Instructions

  1. Place all the dry snack mix you choose to use in a large bowl and toss it together.
  2. In a microwave-proof bowl melt the white chocolate with shortening in 30-second increments stirring in between until melted ( be very careful not to burn the chocolate).
  3. Melt this until the chocolate is smooth and free-flowing and smooth.
  4. Pour this over the mixture mix well and spread on the cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
  5. Refrigerate until firm around 20 minutes.
  6. Break it up and add to mason jars for gifts or a festive plate for serving guests.
