We love using all kinds of flavored cereals, shaped flavored crackers nuts, and after it's microwaved and cooled even adding some favorite colorful candies.
This easy recipe is so much more economical and tastes better than any store-bought snack mix.
I have listed many suggestions below to add some yummy ingredients that you may have just a handful left that can be used in this recipe version.
This hobo snack is fast and very tasty that will become a new family favorite that you just can't stop eating.
Ingredients You Will Need To Make Hobo Snack Mix
- butter
- granulated garlic powder
- Worcestershire sauce
- assorted cereal
- pretzels
- crackers
- nuts or for allergies used pumpkin seeds
Tools You Will Need
- large deep casserole dish to fit in a microwave
- small measuring cups
- spoon for stirring
- storage container or plastic locking bags (mason jars for gift giving)
- Wooden Spoon
- measuring spoon
- 4 cup sized measuring cup
Additional Suggestions:
- pretzels any shape
- cheese crackers, oyster crackers, wheat crackers, flavored crackers of any kind, fish-shaped crackers
- Chex cereal, sugar-coated cereal, peanut butter cereal, cinnamon cereal squares, shredded wheat square cereal
- any kinds of nuts IE peanuts, pistachios, honey roasted, almonds, flavored smoked nuts, pecans, walnuts, etc.
- bugles, pita chips flavored or plain
- any kinds of tortilla flavored chips
- to make more of a Trail Mix after the cereal pretzel combo is completed and cooled add dried fruits, raisins, yogurt-covered fruits, and colored candy-coated chocolate pieces.
- coconut aftercooled
- after cooled dried fruits of any kind pineapple, banana chips, etc
- during the holiday use color-coordinated candies IE: candy corn for Halloween, red and green M &M's, pastel mints for Easter or malted milk balls coated eggs, Patriotic holiday and red white, and blue candies, etc.

I love creating fun snacks and with my suggestions above this can be different every time you make it.
You can also adapt this recipe with more or less flavor, we personally like a little black pepper and cayenne pepper for some spicy heat.
