This recipe is from my childhood.
Now that we have kids in the house again they just love making these along with our Holiday Ice Cream Cone Easter Baskets and of course, using Easter Peeps to Decorate Cupcakes and Cakes.
I would guess it's over 50 years old and I don't want to admit it's that old!
Peanut butter with rice Krispie cereal, some chopped peanut butter cups, are just two of the ingredients in these cute little Easter eggs.
They're all ready for Easter with festive sprinkles on top. The kids go crazy when I make this recipe, so they won't last long.
They're more like crunchy candy. No-bake and done in minutes!
Such an easy but fun candy!
These have now become the favorite candy for all the holiday times.
You can dress them up with colored sprinkles to match the theme of Christmas, Easter or even Valentine's day!
Creative ideas
I usually can't wait until Easter to make these again.
These Peanut Butter Krispie Easter Eggs treats can be shaped any way you want.
I have made them at Christmas shaped into candy canes. You can also dip them in chocolate on just one side.
The kids use to get much more creative with molding them into shapes.
They stay together very well.
You can also change up the candy that is added to this and add white chocolate chips and any kind of chopped chocolate bars you prefer.
Suggestions
- Roll into coordinating colored sprinkle to match the theme of the holiday
- For Nut, Allergies use Sunflower butter
- For Nut, Allergies omit the peanut candy and use just regular chocolate candy cut up
- Any kind of cereal can be used cocoa Krispies work great for a more chocolaty flavor
- These can be dipped on the ends in melted chocolate

Kids Love Them!
The kids could hardly wait.
I don't think there is a better no-bake easy recipe to start off teaching kids how to get excited in the kitchen about cooking.
I remember their excitement every year when my kids made these and how I was with my mom. Your family will all love these treats too.
It's easier to measure out all the ingredients first before you get started.
It's such an easy recipe however, you will have to move pretty quick while the mixture is still warm when adding come of the ingredients.
The mixture after it comes out of the microwave gets stiff quickly and you will want to add the chocolate chips while it's still hot, so they will melt.
