Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars

These are rich-filled pecan pie-tasting cookie bars made all in one pan with a filled layer of chocolate in the center of the delicious crust.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup of light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare your pan by lining the bottom and sides of a 9-by-13-inch baking pan (or use a 12 x 9 brownie pan for a thicker bar) with parchment paper.
- Using an industrial mixer, beat the butter with brown sugar, flour, and salt until it forms a crumb texture.
- Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake this crust for 10 minutes and cool.
- In another bowl mix the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
- Add chocolate chips and pecans; spread over crust.
- Bake until set, 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
