Orange Creamsicle Dessert Tips

Orange Creamsicle Dessert
Fluffy delicious creamy orange salad we just love all summer long a retro recipe from the 1960s.

Ingredients
- 1- 3-ounce package of orange-flavored jello
- 1 small box of instant vanilla pudding
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1- 8-ounce container of whipped topping thawed at room temperature (do not attempt to stir this while frozen)
- 1- 12-ounce can of drained mandarin orange
- 2 cups of mini marshmallows
- Optional: 1 tablespoon grated fresh orange zest
Instructions
- Boil the water (I used the microwave for a quicker salad)
- Add the boiling water to a large bowl with the jello.
- Stir that to dissolve.
- Chill for 15 to 20 minutes (or add it to the freezer for 10 minutes)
- Using a stiff whisk, beat in the vanilla pudding mix until it's creamy and thickens.
- Add the thawed whipped topping, and marshmallows then fold in the mandarin oranges (leave a few for the top for garnish).
- Sprinkle the top with orange zest if using and decorate with mandarin oranges on top.
- Refrigerate until it gets really cold and serve (around 2 hours).
- Note for making parfaits:
- 1 sleeve of graham crackers crushed (or crushed cookies of any kind that go good with orange flavoring).
- 5 tablespoons of melted butter
- Combine the two ingredients in a small bowl.
- Layer the salad starting with graham crackers, and orange salad then sprinkle the top with more graham crackers.
- These are elegant and served in champagne glasses, wine glasses or plastic stemware in summer for a pool party or hosting any party.
