This delicious extra large sharped meatball is creatively baked decorated with carrots, olives and peppers.
This addition to a festive dinner for a Halloween will put a smile on anyone who sees this and it's a great centerpiece on your party table.
It's always a big hit at any party and of course, you can decorate the meatball with any vegetables you prefer.
Baking the meatball with vegetables will cook them and become brown, so to keep the Halloween pumpkin face we just garnish the meatball after it's baked and remove the raw vegetables when we serve it.
Everyone always gets a big kick out of this meal, and usually we serve it with mashed potates and lots of marinara or pizza sauce on top and sometimes shredded mozzarella cheese.

Halloween Italian Meatball Pumpkin
Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 45 MinTotal time: 55 Min
Ingredients
- Meatball Recipe:
- 2 pounds of ground beef (we use chuck)
- 3 cloves of finely minced garlic
- 1/2 cup of Italian-style bread crumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons chopped Italian parsley
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup Pecorino Romano Cheese
- Garnish:
- 1 bottle or can of marinara or pizza sauce any brand
- sliced peppers for the mouth
- black pitted olives for the eyes
- carrot or celery stick for the stem
- Optional: serve with marinara sauce, and shredded mozzarella melted on top when serving.
- Side dishes, mashed potatoes, or a baked potato
Instructions
- In a large bowl mix the meat with the cheese, garlic, parsley, eggs, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper.
- Grease a deep round cake baking pan around 2 inches deep.
- Shape the meat into a round ball and place it in the greased round pan.
- Add the sauce on top.
- Bake at 400 degrees until the meatball is cooked all the way through around 35 to 45 minutes.
- Note: you can decorate this after it's baked to keep it bright in color and just remove the face vegetables when serving.
- If you bake it with the vegetables on it they will shrivel up a bit and turn brown.
- Add olives for the eyes, peppers for the mouth, and add a nose with a piece of carrot or pepper any color you choose.
- I like to add pieces or peppers around the outer edge of the meatball and also to frame in the circle.
- Place a fingerling carrot for the stem or celery stick.
- Use whatever you like to make the face on the pumpkin.
