Cinnamon Blondies

Sunday, September 14, 2014
A true blondie is a dense butterscotch-tasting bar-shaped dessert and we've added a layer of cinnamon sugar to almost taste like the classic snickerdoodle cookies.

We layered these bars alternating dough with cinnamon sugar and butterscotch chips to make a delightful treat that our family just loves.

Through the years we also used other flavored chips and adapted this recipe even topped with ice cream when served.

If you haven't tried making blondies before this is a great recipe to start with, it is certainly a delicious alternative to regular chocolate brownies, and blondies were invented at least 10 years before the chocolate brownie back in the 1900s.

We love all kinds of brownie bars you may have heard of Oreo Stuffed Brownies or our Peanut Butter Ritz Crack Stuffed Brownies more of a gourmet stuffed brownie to try.

This full recipe is in a printable recipe card at the bottom of this page after all the tips and suggestions.

Adapt Away

You can add any chopped candy instead of chips to the center or nuts.

One combination we also love is milk chocolate chips and coconut.

The middle layer is easily adaptable so get creative and add whatever you prefer.
