These are perfect for on the go folks for breakfast, brunch or even taking to the beach, you don't have to add the frosting just leave them plain for traveling.
Most of the time we leave half plain for those who wish to spread butter on them, jams or even some clotted cream.

Tips
- for a flaky dough make sure the butter is cold
- use two forks or a pastry cutter for even distribution
- if you grate the butter first it's easier to combine with flour
- frozen raspberries that are wet and not recommended
- add a pinch of cinnamon for a fall taste
- add mini chocolate chips to the dough

Amaretto Raspberry Scones

These are red raspberry and Amaretto flavored scones. The flaky buttery scones are also glazed with a drizzle of Amaretto icing and almonds
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Amaretto liqueur
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/3 cup toasted sliced almonds
- 1 cup raspberries
- Glaze:
- Heavy cream around 2 or 3 tablespoons or more as needed
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon Amaretto plus 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- Garnish sliced toasted almonds
- Mix sugar and heavy cream and extract a little at a time making a thin frosting. Add almonds.
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients together with softened butter till crumbly-like sand.
- Note: This can be done using two forks or a pastry cutter (this can also be done in a food processor..
- Add the cream then almonds, Amaretto, and extract till blended.
- Fold in berries.
- Make a round dough and cut it like a pie. into wedges or you can cut them with a biscuit cutter or heart-shaped cutter.
- Place on a greased baking sheet or one lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 350 degrees until these are lightly browned.20 to 25 minutes.
- Drizzle the scones with glaze icing and garnish with almonds while warm.
