Slow Cooker Burgundy London Broil

Slow Cooker London Broil is moist and tender, and super easy to make. It will quickly become your favorite meat recipe with the addition of some side dishes for the perfect meal
.
The meat should be cooked for about 8-9 hours on low, or 4-5 hours on high and this will endure the meat is perfectly tender.

The liquid from the roast is so flavorful it can even make a fantastic gravy if you're serving this with mashed potatoes, however, you can add vegetables to the slow cooker to have an all-in-one meal ready.

This is mom's Italian version for London broil and usually, in a slow cooker, it's a foolproof recipe although you can slow cook this in the oven if you don't have one on a low temperature of 250 degrees for around an hour per pound.

If you prefer your meat very rare then this isn't the recipe for you the meat will be tough if not slow cooker and London broil would need to be replaced by a good premium cut of meat like a Tri-Tip, Rib eye roast, or Beef tenderloin.

This recipe can be used with any meat or even pork you will just have to adjust the cooking times by the chart on doneness.








Easy Roast Beef and Delicious



Slow cookers are really the best way to may any roast tender and fall apart sensational however for those with a rare tasting palette, this would not be the right recipe for you so refer to the cooking chart and use a good meat thermometer and different cut of meat (see below).

Any lesser cut of meat when slow cooke will be a tender full proof meal experience.

The real secret is the juice to keep it moist and let it rest first before slicing it after it's finished cooking for at least 10 minutes.


When you're carving the meat, make sure you place it back into the juice.

The juice will keep the meat from drying out and also enhance the flavors in any leftovers.


Always serve it in the juice or thicken it as written for a gravy however this au ju is delicious that it makes.


Tender, juicy, fall apart, and has a wonderful flavor! I always love the leftovers for a future pot pie this will make the best beef pot pie ever!

Slow Cooking Perfection Tips



  1. If you don't happen to have a slow cooker, you can tightly seal your roasting pan with foil and slow cooker at 250 degrees for around 4 hours, check it and continue cooking with these ingredients until it's fork-tender.
  2. If you're not fond of wine or beer use apple juice or use all beef broth.
  3. Always keep the meat in the juice it makes.
  4. We have also used chicken breast boneless in this recipe and it comes out terrific.
  5. For a spicier tasting roast add some pepperoncini and juice or cayenne pepper to taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 (5 pounds) London Broil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, cut into thick slivers
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup Burgundy wine
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon each of oregano and granulated garlic powder
  • Sprig fresh rosemary (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon flour or cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Optional: (add 1 cup or more depending on family size) of carrots, peas, string beans, or potatoes

Instructions

  1. Place the roast in a shallow baking dish and rub with the salt and pepper garlic powder and a little oregano.
  2. Using a thin sharp knife, poke slits all over the top and sides of the roast and stuff each slit with garlic halves.
  3. Add 1/2 cup wine. Refrigerate overnight.
  4. Place the beef in a 7-quart slow cooker adding 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup broth, Worcestershire sauce, and marinade wine from the pan, into the bottom of the pot.
  5. Put the slow cooker on low for 6 to 8 hours or high 4 to 6 hours.
  6. Remove the roast and let sit while making the gravy.
  7. Add a large sprig of fresh rosemary to the sauce if used.
  8. Stir the cornstarch or flour into the remaining 1/4 cup broth and then whisk into the sauce.
  9. Put into the slow cooker and continue to cook until thickened.
  10. Remove the rosemary sprig, stir in the butter, and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  11. Add more flour and water if you like a thicker sauce.
  12. The beef will fall apart.
  13. Great with mashed potatoes, hard-crusted, bread pasta, ramen noodles, or even a topping for baked potatoes with cheese and crumbled bacon
