Cake Mix 1970s Triple Berry Cobbler

Quick and easy how to make this show stopped triple berry cobbler from the 1970s recipe.

This isn't a scratch recipe, it's how to make it using the popular lemon-lime soda recipe along with a white cake mix, an oldie but delicious goodie.

Each forkful of this very loaded with berry dessert is a bite of blissful berry heaven.

Best Cake Mix Cobbler Step By Step

  1. preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. place butter in a 13 x 9 baking pan to melt in the oven
  3. place berries in the pan
  4. sprinkle with mix
  5. add soda do not stir
  6. bake 
  7. serve with whipped cream or ice cream

Tips

  • If using frozen fruits thaw them first and drain pat dry with paper towels
  • Use a 13 x 9  baking pan
  • Using ripe fresh fruits always is the best choice
  • Always preheat the oven 
  • Sweetened the berries with a tiny bit of sugar and cinnamon for a different flavor
  • Keep any leftovers in the refrigerator
  • The cobbler is best served still warm

Cake Mix 1970s Triple Berry Cobbler

Easy cobbler made with lemon-lime soda, cake mix and fruits
Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 50 MinTotal time: 1 Hour

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of assorted unsweetened frozen or drained canned raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries (blotted dry with paper towels)
  • 1 cup unsweetened blueberries fresh (or frozen blotted dry)
  • 1 -12 ounce bottle or can of lemon-flavored soda
  • 1 - 15.25-ounce box of any brand of white cake mix
  • Whipped Topping or Whipped Cream for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and oil spray a 13 x 9 sheet cake pan.
  2. Place frozen fruit in an oil spray 9x13 baking dish.
  3. Add dry cake mix over the top.
  4. Pour soda slowly over the cake mix.
  5. Don't stir the cake mix and the soda, the trick of this is to make the crumb-like topping and this is how it will come out.
  6. If you stir the two together, you will have a cake topping, not the crumble.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven of 350 degrees for 45-50 min.
  8. Serve with whipped cream or french vanilla ice cream.
