Brownie Cherries Jubilee

This heart-shaped Brownie Cherries Jubilee is the easiest fancy dessert made in minutes.

If you love cherries and chocolate and want a romantic dessert that is super easy, this will be one of the most impressive romantic desserts you'll ever make.

The jubilee has rum in it and can easily be ignited to create that dessert-perfect atmosphere for Valentine's Day or any special event for that special loved one in your life.

  2. cool it
  3. make the jubilee sauce the night before and chill it
  4. thicken the sauce the next day before assembling the cake
  5. top with the jubilee warm sauce or serve it over ice cream ignited

Heart Brownie Cherries Jubilee

A wonderful Valentine's Day Brownie topped with Cherries Jubilee with or without the flame for a romantic dessert.

Ingredients

  • Brownie Recipe:
  • 2 squares(1- oz each) of unsweetened chocolate melted in the microwave or over hot water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • Cherry Rum Jubilee Topping:
  • 2 cups Oregon Dark Sweet Sweet Pitted Cherries canned drained ( I used one can)
  • 1/4 cup Dark Rum or use a Cherry Liquor
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • Add all cherry rum Topping ingredients to a bowl, cover, and chill overnight.

Instructions

  1. Brownie Instructions:
  2. Mix all ingredients together until well blended, around 50 strokes by hand.
  3. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes in an 8x8 greased pan or pan of choice.
  4. Note: Use a heart-shaped pan, if available. Cool completely.
  5. Cherry Rum Sauce Instructions:
  6. When ready to assemble your dessert:
  7. Drain the cherries, with all juice, and place into a small saucepan.
  8. In a small bowl add one tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with a little juice to make a paste.
  9. Add juice.
  10. Stir and cook till thickened around 3 or 4 minutes on medium heat.
  11. Place the cherries and juices in a chafing dish, stir, and keep warm.
  12. Note: Add an additional tablespoon on top of the cherries of more rum and ignite with a long lighter if you desire a flame effect.
  13. To assemble:
  14. On a plate, arrange Amaretto cherries on top of the brownie and pour some of the thickened juice on the brownie.
  15. Igniting the Jubilee: Pay close attention to the flame. Pour Rum or Brandy over the cherries. To ignite, use a long lighter. Shake the dish until the blue flame dies down. Spoon the cherries over ice cream.
