Baked Stuffed Figs

Steps Making Fig Appetizers

  1. preheat the oven and prepare a baking sheet
  2. slice the figs in half and make an indent in each fig
  3. fill with filling and bake for 7 minutes
  4. optional: drizzle with honey or balsamic vinegar

Baked Stuffed Figs

Baked stuffed gourmet figs. These are delicious sweet and savory fig with warm goat cheese in the center and chopped pecans a perfect gourmet appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 12 Dried or Fresh Figs
  • Note: (Fresh is best Black mission figs or Brown Turkish) Shown are Dried Figs from Greece
  • 8 ounces of Soft Goat cheese or Gorgonzola at room temperature
  • Chopped pecans
  • Butter melted or extra virgin olive oil
  • Optional: a drizzle of honey on each one after baking or a drizzle of aged balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the figs in half lengthwise in half remove the stem, and place them on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly oil sprayed.
  3. Press down in the middle of each fig to form a well.
  4. Sprinkle with sea salt on top and freshly cracked black pepper.
  5. Fill each fig with soft goat cheese and then top with chopped pecans.
  6. Drizzle just a small amount of olive oil on each or melted butter on top.
  7. Bake for 7 minutes in a 400-degree oven or until the cheese is hot and bubbly!
  8. These can be served topped with any kinds of nuts, warmed jams, balsamic vinegar or a drizzle of honey for the perfect toppings
