The cabbage is sauteed in water and just a few tablespoons of oil and quickly stir-fried to even keep the calories down.
At the end with the addition of a little soy sauce is stirred in for one of the tastiest ways to eat cabbage.
I love quick and easy recipes like this one and if I do have any leftovers it's the perfect filling for
hot pockets (or use wonton wrappers)for making another fun meal just by adding some leftover chicken, beef, or hamburger.
We love cabbage in so many recipes like ham and cabbage with potatoes, stuffed cabbage rolls, and a favorite mandarin coleslaw so we always have this wonderous vegetable on hand because it's so versatile.
I love to add the addition of crispy bacon and carrots for flavor also, but keep it mostly low in calories by not adding the meat.

Healthy Cabbage
This is not the usual kind of stir fry since the cabbage is very tender not crisp, it's certainly versatile if you would like a stir-fried style cabbage.
The wilted style cabbage is soft and almost buttery in flavor without using all the calories.
Cabbage is a great side dish with any meat you serve and quick and easy to make!
You can even add the meats to the pan but I prefer to cook them separately for those who aren't meat eaters in the family.
Southern-style cabbage is to add bacon fat and crumbled bacon to flavor the cabbage and no soy sauce as this is just an Asian style with a little soy sauce for flavor, but this recipe tastes great sauteed with nothing else added to keep it healthy and low in calories.
Another method of cooking this cabbage is by baking it in wedges in foil packets and delicious.
Just add a little salt, pepper, olive oil on the cabbage wedge and bake it on 400 degrees until it's soft and wilted.
Easy peasy, after it's cooked there are no pans to wash just throw away the foil packet!
I usually do that for Hobo Meals.
