This is one of the best chocolate cake recipes and frosting we make and because of that, the family called this World's Best Chocolate Cake.

A delicious cake that really is so simple to make with easy pantry ingredients.

If you're a chocolate cake lover, you're going to love this perfect homemade scratch cake.







Making this the Best Chocolate Cake 

  1. Preheat the oven and grease the pan (either 13 x 9 or two 9 x 9 inch)
  2. Use only unsweetened cocoa powder (we prefer Hershey's)
  3. Mix the batter except add the boiling water last
  4. Pour into pan
  5. Bake 25 - 35  minutes and then cool before frosting


this is a chocolate cake topped with warmed hot fudge ice cream topping


Ingredients You Will Need

  • eggs keep them at room temperature
  • water must boil
  • baking powder and  baking soda
  • milk or heavy cream
  • oil we used vegetable oil
  • unsweetened cocoa powder ( any brand is fine)
  • sugar use granulated sugar
  • flour use AP flour
  • salt any table salt

Tools To Use


  • 13 x 9 sheet pan of any kind
  • two 9 x 9 cake pans( use to do 2 layers and filled
  • cupcakes( you will have to remove the middles, fill them and proceed by spreading each one)
  • two square pans for a two-layer square cake
  • Disposable cake pans are perfect for taking this to a party
  • Line the pans with parchment for easy removal if using metal
  • Freeze the cake for up to 6 months, and thaw in the refrigerator overnight before serving
  • Store cake covered and in the refrigerator for up to 4 days
  • Tools needed: cake pan, mixer, measuring utensils, spatula, parchment paper or cooking oil spray, offset spatula, spoon

World's Best Chocolate Cake

An all-made scratch cake and if you're a chocolate lover this is the best chocolate cake ever.

Ingredients

  • Batter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1-3/4 cups AP flour
  • 3/4 cup baking cocoa unsweetened
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract or vanilla
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Optional: 1 cup of milk chocolate chips
  • Frosting:
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 stick of room-temperature butter
  • 2/3 cup of heavy cream, half-and-half or milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour either 2-9-inch pans or a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  3. Cream the oil with sugar for 2 minutes then add the milk, oil, and eggs.
  4. In a large bowl, add the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and baking powder along with the salt, and whisk them together.
  5. Combine the two for around two minutes using an electric mixer then stir in the hot water.
  6. Pour into your prepared pans.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes depending on what pan you used.
  8. A toothpick in the middle should be clean when inserted and removed for it to be done.
  9. Cool a few minutes before removing it from the pan.
